MASTERWORKS. A. Dvorak Symphony No. 9 “From the New World” & Romantic Composers
As part of the “SOUND of UKRAINE” charity project With the Lviv National Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra and the pianist Violina Petrychenko under the musical direction of Volodymyr Syvokhip
Under the musical direction of Volodymyr Syvokhip, the Lviv National Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, one of the oldest and most important orchestras in Ukraine, will perform Antonín Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9 “From the New World” and the Ukrainian composer Borys Lyatoshynsky’s Symphonic Ballad “Grazyna” and Vasyl Barvynsky’s Concerto for Piano and Orchestra with the German-Ukrainian Pionist Violina Petrychenko as soloist.
“SOUND OF UKRAINE – to the free world” is a message of hope; a message of love, so that we can communicate in the universal language of music.

LVIV NATIONAL PHILHARMONIC SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
The Lviv National Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, named after Myroslaw Skoryk, is one of the oldest and most important Ukrainian orchestras. Founded on September 27, 1902, the orchestra has worked with Richard Strauss, Gustav Mahler, Ruggero Leoncavallo, Mieczyslaw Karłowicz, Reinhold Glière, Yevhen Mravinsky, Nicolae Popescu, Kurt Masur and many other famous conductors in its history. The orchestra regularly takes part in international festivals and has toured successfully in many countries, including Poland, Italy, Spain, France, Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands and China. Most recently, the orchestra undertook a major tour of the United States of America from January to March 2023, including a sold-out concert at the famous Carnegie Hall in New York. The major tour of Germany in 2023 was successfully concluded with a gala concert in the Great Hall of the Berlin Philharmonie and met with a positive response not only from experts but also from German audiences, who demonstrated the orchestra’s high level of professionalism and amazing sound.
VIOLINA PETRYCHENKO (piano)
The artist, who can look back on a very active concert career. Concert tours have taken her through Germany, Holland, France, Austria, Spain, the Czech Republic and the Ukraine. Violina has performed several times for Deutschlandradio Kultur as well as MDR and WDR radio and television. She has performed at several festivals (including the Bayreuth Piano Festival, Euro Music Festival, Rösrath Piano Festival, Klangwelten (Bad Ahrweiler), Alt Kainacher Musiktage (Austria), Euregio Festival (Germany) Palermo Classica (Italy). Violina Petrychenko was presented by the Museum für Lackkunst (BASF) in Münster in 2016 with her own concert series.
In 2017, the CD “The Silenced Voice of Vasyl Barvinsky” was released, the first recording of his piano works. The CDs “Mrii” and “Winter Whispers” were released in 2023
The proceeds from the ticket sales will go to the UA RENAISSANCE Foundation, which is part of the HELP US. SAVE UKRAINIAN CULTURE initiative to protect Ukrainian culture and art and support Ukrainian artists at home and abroad.
