The National Ensemble of Soloists “Kyiv Camerata” occupies a leading place among the orchestras of Ukraine and is the first performer of hundreds of works by modern Ukrainian composers.
“Kyiv Сamerata” is an orchestra where every musician is a virtuoso and a solo performer. This is a team with a clear mission – the promotion of Ukrainian music in all the colorful styles, currents and compositional schools. However, the repertoire of the orchestra is constantly renewed and covers a wide musical range: from the ancient music of baroque to the works of modern composers.
Among the Ukrainian authors who collaborated and wrote for the ensemble, we can find dozens of names – from the classics of modern music to young composers. Valentin Sylvestrov, Yevgen Stankovych, Myroslav Skoryk, Ivan Karabyts, Oleg Kiva, Vitaly Gubarenko, Yuriy Ishchenko, Levko Kolodub, Leonid Grabovskyi, Volodymyr Zubytskyi and Lesya Dychko, Hanna Havrylets, Zoltan Almashi, Yuliya Gomelska, Carmella Tsepkolenko and many others artists composed music for the orchestra.
“Kyiv Camerata” was founded in 1977, when the collective at the beginning of its creative journey existed under the conditions of an enterprise, as the Chamber Music Ensemble of the Union of Composers of Ukraine.
August 19, 1993 – received the status of “State”.
In 2000, for a significant contribution to the development of Ukrainian musical art and culture, the orchestra was awarded the status of “National”.

Valery Matyukhin, a prominent Ukrainian conductor, pianist, laureate of the National Taras Shevchenko Prize, People’s Artist of Ukraine, is the founder, long-term director and artistic director of the “Kyiv Camerata” orchestra. At different times, prominent musical figures of the country – Myroslav Skoryk, Ivan Karabyts and Valentyn Silvestrov- worked with the team as artistic directors.
In 2023 the famous violinist and soloist of the orchestra Bohdana Pivnenko became the general director and artistic director of the orchestra.

The “Kyiv Camerata” performed in the USA, England, Poland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Austria, Armenia, Georgia, and other countries.
In October 2022, a concert was held in Tbilisi as part of the “Art without borders” project.
During the war, from 2 to 12 September 2023, the orchestra’s tour took place in southern Germany, in February 2024 the orchestra performed in Zurich and in March 2024 the National Kyiv Camerata Orchestra played in the Berlin Philharmonie. The successful guest tours of “Kyiv Camerata”, visits to the world stages and the integration of Ukrainian performance on the artistic map of the world is huge.

Participation in festivals
“Kyiv Camerata” orchestra participated in many international festivals:
Musical dialogues “Estonia-Ukraine”, “Ukraine – Austria”, “Ukraine – Finland”, “Ukraine – Azerbaijan”, “Ukraine – Germany”, “Days of Ukrainian Music in Warsaw”, “Days of Ukrainian Culture” in London.

“Two Days and Two Nights of New Music” (Odesa), “Bouquet Kyiv Stage”, Kyiv Music Fest, “Contrasts” (Lviv National Philharmonic), “Summer Music Rays”, Levka Kolodub Music Festival, ” December Evenings” (Zhytomyr Philharmonic named after S. Richter), “Music premieres of the season”, “Stankovich-fest”, All-Ukrainian Festival “Mirror” (Lviv National Opera).
