Outstanding orchestra of the National Opera from Kharkiv guests
at Bad Salzungen’s New Year’s Concert
Bad Salzungen invites you to its New Year’s Concert and welcomes renowned Ukrainian artists
from the second largest city in the country.
On 20 January at 7 pm, the outstanding orchestra of the National Opera and Ballet Theatre
from Kharkiv will be guests in the Evangelical Town Church. The 35-member ensemble
led by conductor Dmytro Morozov and soloist Kateryna Myronova
will present Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons”.
Thanks to the generous support of the Thuringian State Chancellery and the help of the district
and the Bad Salzungen Cultural Association, the Bad Salzungen municipality is able to make the
concert admission-free. This is to make it possible for every interested guest to attend.
At the entrance, guests have the opportunity to make a donation for cultural reconstruction in Ukraine.
The ensemble of the National Opera and Ballet Theatre Kharkiv, the cultural centre of Eastern Ukraine,
had to leave the city, which has been bombed since the beginning of the Russian war of aggression.
The venue was badly damaged, and some of the artists’ homes were destroyed.
Now the top ensemble has found a temporary new home in Slovakia – not only to survive, but also
to continue its artistic work. Since April 2022, the musicians have been on tour in Europe, thrilling audiences.
