When they say "Odesa jazz", they mean Oleksiy Petukhov, who is one of the most recognizable and popular jazz pianists in Ukraine and at VINNYTSIA JAZZFEST-2020 will perform with his famous Trio, which always surprises with a mosaic of unsurpassed talent and drive. Oleksiy Petukhov is a representative of the Odesa jazz school, one of the leaders of the Odesa jazz community, a talented arranger, composer, producer and a true romantic of modern jazz piano. His exquisite music for piano can be compared only with the classics who wrote for this instrument, for example, Schumann or Schubert. His improvisations, no matter with which partners he performs, always belong to the best moments of the concert, and the author's music and its performance are endowed with nobility, melody and graceful lightness. Oleksiy Petukhov was born on July 26, 1976 in Odesa. He first got acquainted with jazz at music school.  In 1995 he graduated from the Odesa Music College as a jazz pianist, and in 2000 - from the Odesa Music Academy as an academic pianist. Since then he has taken an active part in many concerts and jazz festivals in Ukraine, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Germany, France and other countries. Petukhov's creative biography includes many interesting projects, both author's and in collaboration with the best improvisers of the modern jazz scene. The Ukrainian jazzman has performed with such stars as Chanda Rule, Grace Garland, Philo Mashado, Grammy winner Gregory Porter, Kevin Mahogany, Carl Frierson, Allan Harris, Jason Brown, Yves Cornelius, Benny Benak, Gregory Boyd, Sivan Arbel, Juliette Kelly, In-Grid, Haddaway, Rachel Therrien and many others. Since 2000, he has been teaching piano and jazz improvisation at the Dankevich Odesa College of Arts and is the conductor of the Mykola Holoshchapov Jazz Orchestra.
